Horse Racing Tips Today – Saturday 1st February 2020

  • 12:50 at Leopardstown – Fury Road to Win at 5/2 with Ladbrokes

Saturday’s card at Punchestown gets underway with a Grade 1 in the shape of the Nathaniel Lacy & Ptnrs Solicitors Novice Hurdle. Elixir d’Ainay and Longhouse Poet are both well fancied to have an impact after chasing home Envoi Allen last time out but it’s Fury Road who looks the most likely winner. The six-year-old has won on all three starts so far this season, the last two with Davy Russell on board. They pair up again on Saturday and should have enough to get this quality field beaten.

  • 1:25 at Leopardstown – Chacun Pour Soi to Win at 7/4 with bet365

The Grade 1s keep coming at Leopardstown with another high class field contending for the Dublin Chase. Min is the name on everybody’s lips given the nine-year-old is the only horse to have won this 2m1f contest but he does look to have his work cut out for him this year. Chacun Pour Soi goes into the race as the one the others have to beat. He was beaten by A Plus Tard – who also lines up in this one – just after Christmas but can improve for that run and pick up a win before heading to Cheltenham for the Champion Chase.

  • 2:00 at Leopardstown – Fakir D’oudairies to Win at 9/4 with Coral

Many of the races at the Dublin Racing Festival have close links with other races at the Cheltenham Festival. That’s certainly the case with the Arkle Novice Chase which has produced plenty of winners of the Arkle at Cheltenham. Connections of both Fakir D’oudairies and Notebook are confident that their charges have a real chance of victory in both races. Notebook is the favourite having won when they met on Boxing Day but Fakir D’oudairies looks a good price to exact revenge both here and at Cheltenham.

  • 3:10 at Leopardstown – Sharjah to Win at 15/8 with BetVictor

The Irish Champion Hurdle has, as ever, attracted a top class field. The Grade 1 is is widely considered to be on a par with its namesake at Cheltenham and it’s two horses in with a chance of winning in March who top the betting. If Honeysuckle were to be entered in the Champion Hurdle it would go down as a brave decision even though she gets a seven pound mares’ allowance. She is a classy performer but two miles might just not suit her as well as it suits Sharjah who gets the nod at 15/8 with BetVictor.
