888sport 16/1 Getabird Offer: Back Getabird at 16/1 to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on Day 1 of the 2018 Cheltenham Festival
The Cheltenham Festival kicks off in style on Tuesday 13th March 2018 with the much-anticipated Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. The famous Cheltenham Roar will accompany the start as punters have their first shot at beating the bookies.
If you think the favourite Getabird will get Willie Mullins off to a winning start, this enhanced odds offer from 888sport could be just the ticket: back Getabird to win at 16/1.
This is great enhancement given that most bookies have the six year old available at just 13/8. Though this price is available to new 888sport customers only, note that you can bet £5.00 at the enhanced price (rather than the £1.00 limit imposed on many enhanced odds offers).
As with all Cheltenham Festival offers, there are some terms and conditions for the offer that should be read and understood before you claim it. Read the full terms at the 888sport site, but please note the following in particular:
- The offer is available to new customers only
- You must join 888sport, use promo code BOOST and make a real money deposit of at least £10
- The enhanced odds of 16/1 on Getabird to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle apply to a stake of £5 only
- Winnings will be paid in free bets which will be valid for seven days
- Free bets stakes not returned with any winnings
- The offer is valid until the 2018 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle begins on Tuesday 13th March 2018

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Information
The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is one of the most popular races at the entire Cheltenham Festival, not least because – as the first race of the first day – it gets the action underway.
In addition, though, the race has seen the first steps to greatness of a good number of top quality horses. From L’Escargot back in 1968, to the likes of Champagne Fever, Vautour, Douvan and Altior in more recent times, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle gives future stars their first real taste of the Cheltenham Festival – some thrive, some falter.
One trainer/jockey combination that has certainly thrived in this race is that of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh. They took a hat-trick of victories from 2013 to 2015 and look well set to follow up with another win this year. Their runner? You’ve guessed it: Getabird.
With four wins from four rules races, Getabird is certainly showing good form in his fledgling career. It is his nine length victory in the Moscow Flyer Hurdle at Punchestown in January that gives us great hope that he’ll do the business in this race on Tuesday.
So if you haven’t already got a betting account with 888sport – who we feel are a very solid bookie – then now might well be the time to get on board with them!
