Fillies’ Mile Tips and Betting Offers, 3:35 at Newmarket, Friday 11th October 2019
One of the real joys of the closing stages of the flat racing season is the excitement that builds around the most promising juvenile horses. The Group 1 Fillies’ Mile has been won by plenty of fillies who have gone on to have great success as they’ve matured and we have a quality cast in attendance at Newmarket on Friday for the 2019 renewal.

Whose Unbeaten Run Will Come to an End?
Two unbeaten fillies are doing battle for favouritism at the top of the betting for the Fillies’ Mile. Quadrilateral is just about getting more support than Cayenne Pepper from punters after a couple of impressive wins.
Roger Charlton’s filly was always likely to have a buzz about her on breeding alone. She is a daughter of Frankel and many of her half siblings have picked up big wins. That breeding saw her fairly well backed on her debut when she scored over 7 furlongs at Newbury before following up with another win over the same course and distance.
The Fillies’ Mile marks Quadrilateral’s first attempt over a mile. She’s shown many punters enough already to suggest that she is more than capable of the step up both in trip and class.
Cayenne Pepper has already proven herself over a mile. After starting off with wins over 7 furlongs and then 7½ furlongs, she justified her favouritism in the Group 3 Flame Of Tara Irish EBF Stakes last time out, beating some quality fillies in the process.
Jessica Harrington was particularly impressed with Cayenne Pepper’s performance that day as she hadn’t run for the best part of two months before her appearance at the Curragh. Harrington has become accustomed to winning big races with her highly impressive string of juveniles this season and is confident that Cayenne Pepper will have little trouble getting the trip even with soft conditions at the Rowley Mile.
Queen Daenerys the One For Each Way Money
There is quality all the way through the field for the Fillies’ Mile, opening up the prospect of an outsider either winning or securing a handsome each way payout for savvy punters. Queen Daenerys is one of those who has a real chance of rewarding her punters, in the same way that she did last time out at Newmarket.
Roger Varian’s filly showed glimpses of class despite being well beaten into second place on her debut and was the subject of something of a gamble. It remains to be seen whether her price comes in considerably in the hours before the Fillies’ Mile but for now she is tempting for an each way bet at 16/1 with bet365.
The 2019 Fillies’ Mile promises to be a cracking battle between the two market principles. Given that they have both caught the eye already and it’s likely to be a closely run thing, the value bet does look to be Cayenne Pepper at 11/4 with Coral. She also has proven form over 1 mile so should add another positive note to Jessica Harrington’s incredible run with juveniles over the last few months.
